Susan makes the oval plate using a slab roller, then after the preliminary firing, I glaze it in the white matt glaze, then give it back to Susan for her to hand paint the Blue Bonnets. The design is then fired in at 2260*F, so it will never fade or rub off. It looks decorative, but the plate is functional and can go into the oven, microwave and dishwasher, plus the glazes do not contain either lead or barium. It is, on average 11 by 7 inches.
