This is a great piece to have at large gatherings, because it holds a lot. On average this style bowl is 12 inches in diameter and 4 inches in height. There will be some variance in size because each piece is handmade, but that is what makes each one unique. When not using ours for serving, it's on the kitchen counter full of fruit. Originally, I made the first one of this style for my wife Susan and her famous potato salad. At all family gatherings and most parties, she is requested and sometimes mandated to bring her potato salad. It's so good that we started including a copy of the recipe along with the purchase of this piece. Of course this bowl is also great to use for tossed salads and some purchase it for their bread dough. It is very functional because it does go into the oven, microwave and dishwasher, plus the glazes do not contain either Lead or Barium.
